God.

It rained for days and the entire area was flooded. One man was stranded on his roof as the rain poured down. Afraid he would drown, the man cried out to God.

"Father, save me!" he yelled.

A neighbour was passing by on a boat and called to him, asking him to jump in. The man choose not to saying that God will save him instead.

The rain was still pouring down and the water raised to his waist. Again he yelled,"God, save me!"

This time a volunteer boat came and asked to him to get in. The man still choose not to, giving the reason that God will save him.

Now, the water rose to his shoulders and still the man was on the roof. Again he cried out,"Lord God, save me!"

A helicopter came and the rescuers yelled to him, calling him to climb up. The man choose not to, yelling out that God will save him.

The man died and when he went to heaven, he asked God why was he not saved?

God told him that He had sent the man's neighbour, volunteers and even a helicopter to rescue him. And yet the man choose not to go with any of them and so that was why he drowned.

Sometimes we expect God to sweep down from the heavens and save us with his mighty hand. In reality, God works with people most of the time.

The question is are we wise enough to see that and allow ourselves to be saved when the time comes. Or do we allow ourselves to drown just because of ignorance.
