Confusion... To do what I want to do and what I need to do. A sane person, no strike that. An intelligent person would do what he or she has to. Yet, that is sometimes not the case is it?
After all, we are but only human and being human, we make mistakes. Most of the time our mistakes are caused by groundless reasoning that somehow manages to make sense when we were searching for lame excuses to do what we did. And most of the time the same excuses or said loopholes we searched for, are unable to justify what we did.
Let me put this in simpler English... We are dolts when it comes to matters of the heart. (And I am not referring to love.) Matters of desire, of our wants and of what we want to do oft control our actions more that our brains. Of course if non of the above is understood than dolt, you require more English classes.
So, what do we do when we fall to such deeds per say?
Well, some oft just sit by a corner and pretend all is well while twiddling their thumbs. Others go into a guilt mode and do what was required of them in the first place and do a huge list of self inflecting penance. While the rest of humanity resort to just allow the wimps of the heart and soul take them where they wish. The modern day equivalent of yesterday's epicurean.
Then again these said modern epicureans are what they are, living only for the moment despite all consequences.
So, do we allow this to cloud our judgement and allow society's epicurean rules which govern all, to destroy however small the guilt? In other words, do we just allow ourselves to live as the rest of the world does? Cheating, blackmailing corrupting and etc... Do we inflict such great virtues into our characters' like the great tyrants before us? All done to carry out the means where, in this case is our wants.
Well, it is up to us is it not? After all, men has always had free will.
